“ Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.”
“ This is the one I esteem; he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word.”
“ Restore us, O God, make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved.”
“ In the day of my trouble I will call to you, for you will answer me.”

The nature of prayers are varied, some may be like Abel, while the others be like Cain. There may also be those whose petitions are like Jonah while the favored ones still be like David. The scripture does not speak of Jonah as proud but as a fault finder and grumbler. On the other hand it sheds light on David as a man whose heart was always with prayer and whose devotion was always set to God. This king had troubles, not just one but many and his every prayer was answered except one. The only unanswered prayer was the petition given to God was for the son who was born to him out of adultery to live again.

The troubles he faced were rebellion by his own son, the ravishing of his concubines by his own son and the other trails he went through were also numerous. That was it but as he trusted God even in his hours of darkness, the prayers he invested in were all answered. The psalms he wrote were all from God and even as he sat on his throne he did not forget the one who placed him there. Such was the life of this saint and the light within him depicted God’s favor upon him. The Lord heard him, answered his every prayer and exalted him to be in the place he never imagined to be in. this King was close to God.
