Dimapur, June 1 (EMN): T
he Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) on May 31 caught a 13-year-old boy and his sister, said to be around 18-19 years, entering Dimapur illegally from Lumding in Assam.

The former president of DNSU, Sungkum Aier, told Eastern Mirror that on Sunday, DNSU received a call from the Gorapatti colony executives informing about a boy jumping off a running train in Dimapur at around 11 am to 12 pm.

“On being queried, the boy confessed that he along with his sister had climbed the Chennai Express from Lumding, while hiding inside the train as they heard that free food was being provided in Dimapur. The boy’s sister was said to have got off at the Dimapur railway station while the boy jumped off the moving train before it reached Dimapur platform, where he was also alleged to have pulled the chain,” Aier said.

The boy was handed over to the Railway police station “for necessary formalities”, DNSU informed.

‘People without mask will be quarantined’

DNSU officials went around the streets in Dimapur on Monday urging people to continue wearing masks in market places.

The union warned that anyone found in the street without a mask would be “taken to a quarantine centre”.

The officials also distributed free masks to the shopkeepers and passersby by. They ‘warned the shopkeepers that if they do not adhere to the mandatory use of masks and put a notice outside their shops stating mandatory use of mask for the customers, their shutters would be pulled down’.
