Civil services (main) examination results declared
The Union Public Service Commission on Sunday declared the results of the civil services (main) examination 2014. In a press release, the commission said that personality test of qualified candidates for selection to Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and other central services (Group A and Group B) was likely to commence from April 27.
Nagas to hold rallies in Manipur hills
Peace rallies will begin from April 14 in Manipur demanding the early settlement of the Indo-Naga political issue. The rallies will be held in the four hill districts of Manipur dominated by the Nagas. The rallies will be held under the aegis of the United Naga Council (UNC). The first rally will be held at Noney in Tamenglong district on Tuesday. Local organization Committee on Peace of Longmai Area (CoPLA) will take charge of the Noney rally under the supervision of the United Naga Council.
Train knocks down man in Dimapur
One person was killed on Monday morning after being knocked down by a running train near a railway crossing located between Thahekhu village and Nagarjan in Dimapur. GRPS personnel retrieved the body of the deceased, one Nangchung, (38), son of Lepdensangba and a resident of Signal Colony, at around 11 am. Police said that he died of a fractured skull.
Directives to LPG plants, oil pumps and retail outlets
The deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome has asked all “LPG plants/ retail outlets/petrol pumps” in Dimapur to adopt proper safety measures “so as not to endanger the lives of citizens and properties.” A press release from the DC’s office today all “proprietors concerned” to stick to the guidelines prescribed in their respective permits. “Defaulters shall be punished as per law,” the DC warned.
