Shokhuvi Village Council clarifies July 13 IED blast occurred within Chümoukedima (A) village jurisdiction, urging media to correct reports
DIMAPUR — The Shokhuvi Village Council (SVC) on Wednesday clarified that the site of the July 13 improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Chümoukedima district does not fall within its jurisdiction.
In an official rejoinder and clarification, the council stated that several media houses and news channels had incorrectly reported that the blast occurred in Shokhuvi village. “The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Chümoukedima (A) village, and not Shokhuvi village," the council stated.
It appealed to media organisations and members of the public to take note of the correct location and refrain from circulating inaccurate information.
The council also urged media outlets to rectify their reports at the earliest to prevent the spread of misinformation and ensure that accurate information reaches the public.
