Shiba Inu’s Metaverse poised for partial launch by end of 2023
Developers from the popular meme crypto token, Shiba Inu, recently provided an update on “SHIB: The Metaverse,” the highly anticipated virtual world experience, stating that it is expected to launch in December of this year. The vision for the Metaverse is ambitious, aiming to offer users an unparalleled virtual experience by the end of 2023. Users will have the opportunity to explore, interact and create within its vast and immersive environment.
While not all areas of the Metaverse will be fully completed at launch, the developers are committed to continuous development and expansion to ensure the virtual world remains dynamic and ever-evolving. One of the key features of SHIB: The Metaverse is the availability of 100,595 plots of land that users can mint and own, which can generate passive income and provide in-game resources and rewards. The team also has plans to introduce personal space management, allowing for endless creativity and customisation.
The developers have also confirmed that the virtual experience is being built upon Unreal Engine 5.1 and the game’s open world is expected to be graphically impressive to provide users with a more photorealistic experience.
In the Metaverse, users can create their own avatars, which will be humanoid dogs in line with the Shiba Inu theme. These avatars can explore, visit and interact with various lands within the Metaverse, contributing to its in-game economy and fostering a vibrant virtual community.

The development of the Metaverse will be built on Shibarium, an upcoming layer 2 network that utilises tokens from the Shiba ecosystem including Leash and Bone. The Shibarium testnet is already live, showcasing the progress and commitment of the development team towards creating a seamless and immersive virtual world for users to enjoy.
