Dimapur, May 29 (EMN): Agricultural Technology Management Agency (Atma), Mangkolemba block in Mokokchung district conducted training on ‘Preservation and value addition of ginger’ for the Self Help Groups (SHG) namely Kiyonglar and Medemtsurtem SHGs at Mangkolemba town on May 26.
An update from Atma Mangkolemba block stated that the resource person Limawapangla Longkumer (BTM) has stressed on the importance of value addition of ginger as it could add extra income to their pocket without much expenditure.
She has illustrated different procedures on how to prepare different value-added products of ginger such as ginger candy, ginger syrup, salted ginger and how to preserve ginger. Besides, she presented a hands-on demonstration to the farmers.
Altogether, 13 farmers attended the training programme.
