Dimapur, Nov. 10 (EMN): Realising the much needed and long awaited establishment of a girls’ hostel for the students studying in the Patkai Christian College, the director of director higher education, Kuholi Chisi inaugurated a hostel for the girl students.
Chishi, while inaugurating the programme, said that the hostel is meant for the less privileged students, said that project is aimed for lesser privileged students.
She said that the project would not have been possible without the support of North Eastern Council (NEC) and the state government would not have been possible without the support of North Eastern Council (NEC) and the state government, the director informed.
The director also credited the secretary NEC Ram Muivah for initiating the project, adding that the provision to fund Patkai Christian College for the hostel was made available based on its performance. While stressing on the significance of performing institutions, the director said, “a performing institution is always in the eyes of the society and it needs to uphold its purpose in preparing young generation for effective participation and responsible citizenship in society”.
The principal of the college, Husazu Epao expressed gratitude to the NEC and state government for helping the college avail the scheme said that the new hostel will help lesser privileged students seeking hostel facilities in the campus. He further sought help from NEC and the state government for release of second instalment of the fund to construct the remaining two storey of the hostel building.
