Sharingain Longkumer sworn in as legislator

Dimapur, May 28 (EMN): The newest entrant to this tenure of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), Sharingain Longkumer was on Tuesday administered the oath of office by the Speaker of NLA, Vikho-o Yhoshü.

A statement from the Assembly Secretariat informed that the recently elected member from 26-Aonglenden assembly constituency was sworn in at 12 noon in the presence of Zhaleo Rio, Deputy Speaker; CM Chang, Minister of Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Parliamentary Affairs; Mhathung Yanthan, Advisor to Horticulture; Imnatiba, Advisor to Industries and Commerce, NIDC; and K Sekhose, NLA Secretary.

Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party candidate Sharingain defeated Congress candidate Alem Jongshi by 6148 votes in the recently concluded by-election.
