Demands posting of civil servants before August 14
Dimapur, August 10 (EMN): Three premier organisations of Shamator area namely the Shamator Town Public Forum, Shamator Town Students’ Union and Yimchungberü Arihako Shamator Area have resolved to stop from attending and extending cooperation during the Independence Day celebrations at Shamator due to the non appointment of administrative officers in the area after the earlier officers were transferred.
The resolution was decided at a meeting of the three organisations held on August 10 stated a press release appended by S. Mükamchim, president of Shamator Town Public Forum; K. Thsanthong, president of Shamator Town Students’ Union and K. Easter president of Yimchungberü Arihako Shamator Area.
"Whereby a matter in regard to the lackadaisical and discriminatory attitude of the State Government towards the public of Shamator area and adjoining villages were thoroughly discussed and deliberated and consequently adopted a resolution, that the public of Shamator area shall not participate or extend cooperation in any manner on the occasion of the ensuing Independence Day celebration being aggrieved by non-availability of ADC and EAC of Shamator ADC Hq and the SDO (C) of Chessore Hq," stated the joint press release.
The three organisation also stated that it is "disheartening" to state that the three administrative officers were transferred out in the month of May 2017 but none have been transferred to fill the posts left vacant by them .
"The action of the State Government is beyond normal human tolerance," it further stated.
The organisations therefore have resolved not to participate and cooperate on the occasion if the three officers are not posted before August 14. "This resolution was based purely in the interest of a fair sense of justice and equity."
