Dimapur, July 18 (EMN): The public of Shamator Sub-division has brought to light a case of negligence by the government that the subdivision has no administrative officers since June 10 and still no postings have been announced in the recent reshuffle order.
"Being one of the oldest sub-divisions in the interior region with so many issues, it is left out without any administrative officer to look after the grievances of the area. The then Additional Deputy Commissioner and the Extra Assistant Commissioner had to leave the station after conducting the farewell programme on 10th June 2017 to join their duty in their new posting as per the government order," stated a joint letter of the Shamator Town Public Forum and Shamator Town Students Union to the Chief Secretary that was released to the media on Tuesday.
The organisations also stated that Shamator Town under Tuensang district is "denied of its justice yet once again" since no replacement has been announced even in the recent reshuffle and the people of the area are undergoing "untold problems" especially the students and the common people.
The organisations has urged the Chief Secretary to do the needful at the earliest possible time for sake of public welfare.
Appeals for staff at CHC
Meanwhile in another letter by the same two organisations to the Chief Secretary, it has apprised about the condition of the Community Health Centre in the town with few staffs though it was upgraded from a PHC in 2014.
"The CHC, Shamator is still manned by one doctor and the present strength of staff is same as it was before up gradation. Many sick ones are left unattended when the doctor is on leave or on other official duty. We appreciate the present staff who are rendering their best service, but the ratio of the strength to the population of the town is quite less due to which many of the patients still suffer," stated the two organisation on Tuesday
The organisations appealed the Chief Secretary to ensure that the concerned authority to take action and send the required number of doctors and staff as per the norms of CHC.
