Dimapur, Aug. 25 (EMN): With an aim to acclimatise the frontline workers and public with new agenda to fight the pandemic, the Shamator task force for Covid-19 under Tuensang district held a consultative meeting with volunteers, resource centre in-charge, media cell, medical team, NGOs and 11 wards chairmen, at Cultural Hall on August 25.
An update from DIPR informed that Lankonsen Tsanglao ADC, chairman for TF Covid-19 Shamator, spoke on the decision to dispense with the resource centre for time being, and formation of new committee.
Every ward will have a committee comprising five members to supervise home quarantine, the update informed, adding that Shamator has at least 50 plus people under home quarantine at present.
Informing that the past few months had been tough as they had to look after the returnees, the ADC thanked all the frontline workers for successfully rendering their services. “The two quarantined centres may remain functional for any emergencies. A provision for TrueNat at Shamator CHC is also being initiated to the higher authority expecting for a positive response,” it was informed.
YTC member Kiuji appreciated the administration and frontline workers for their efforts in combating the Covid-19 and appealed to the public not to circulate fake reports of Covid-19 cases.
Yanhokiu, a member of TF Covid19 Shamator, lauded the villagers for setting up village quarantined centres, as well as thanked the resource centre, cook in-charge, women groups, churches, volunteers, media cells, IPR department, drivers and all those who contributed financially towards the Covid-19 welfare.
Also speaking at the meeting, the EAC of Shamator asked the people to refrain from social stigmatisation and decriminalisation against the frontline workers and patients but foster love and support to them. YTC member Tsurito raised the issue faced by student due to internet connectivity problems, the ADC informed that trial-based visitation of bank for customers will be done in roster by September. Stating that the fight against Covid19 is not over yet, the ADC appealed to everyone to extend their support towards the combat by wearing mask, maintaining social distancing and staying at home unless very necessary.
