Shamator district demand: YTC gives Dec. 31 deadline to state government
Dimapur, Dec. 27 (EMN): The Yimkhiung Tribal Council (YTC) has served an ultimatum to state government to declare Shamator sub-division a district on or before Dec. 31, 2021.
In a press statement, YTC stated that it had resolved with its frontal organisations to shut down all the government offices, exempting the administration, police, bank and Health department within the jurisdiction of Yimkhiung from January 2022 as the first phase of democratic agitation, if the govt. fails to comply with its demand.
YTC has also directed the MLA of 58 A/C, presidents and general secretaries of Yimkhiung frontal organisations, forums and area GBs federation, ex-MLAs, ex-candidates, state-level political leaders, tribal elders, Yimkhiung representatives to all other organisations, retired government officials and former YTC Officials to report to the office of the Yimkhiung Tribal Council (YTC) Shamator headquarters by January 2, 2022.
“Whoever failed to comply with this directive shall be recorded in the history of Yimkhiung Tribe,” it added.
