Set Up a Staff Selection Board

Departmental exams are a huge farce. It is an accepted fact that nepotism takes place in these departmental exams. Kith and kin of ministers and bureaucrats fill up these jobs. It is useless applying for these jobs or even sitting for the exams. The solution is to either increase the manpower of NPSC and let NPSC conduct the exams for these departmental posts also or set up a Staff Selection Board on the lines of SSC for all jobs not falling under NPSC except Grade - 4 posts. A Dedicated Staff Selection Board filled with men and women of integrity will clean up the system in a big way. Meritocracy needs to be the norm of the day. Unless Meritocracy is put in place, we will see no professionalism in our offices. Meritocracy will ensure meritorious and hard working candidates are behind the desks and this in turn result in efficiency in running our State. It is my sincere request to our New Chief Minister Sir Neiphiu Rio to consider setting up a Staff Selection Board for conducting exams for all posts not falling under NPSC . Kevitho Kera
