Dimapur, Feb. 28: Parliamentary Secretary for Sericulture & Home Guards & Civil Defence, E.E. Pangteang unveiled the Department Manual Book and launched Departmental Website on February 28, at the Directorate of Sericulture, Kohima.
In his speech, the parliamentary secretary mentioned that Sericulture department was bifurcated in the year 1989 and after 28 years bringing out the departmental manual has given them a unique identity. He pointed out that the basic philosophy of the government is to provide transparency, accountability and justice as well as to insist on discipline and efficiency. He also said that the manual book will provide all the inputs to the service of the people and the department with sincerity, dignity and labour.
Pangteang stated that in the era of information technology launching of website will mark the ultimate realization of a long felt need of the department. He said that the website will be updated from time to time so that accurate information is made available with easy and quick access which will be instrumental towards implementation of the flagship programmes. He hoped that this constructive initiative will go a long way in motivating the Department as an eye opener and trend setter in the days to come.
Secretary for Sericulture, C.M. Tsanglao said that “now we are in the electronic age which is the highest ever civilization achieved by mankind where the department of Sericulture is also in the arena”. He expressed his appreciation to the staff of the department for success of website launching where working system will be strengthened and enhance the ability to do more work. He also appealed to all the staff to be punctual and regular and be worthy to be a government servant. As long as we are in government service we are duty bound and during our limited period of service we should bring good image and make a footprint in the Department, he stated.
Director of Sericulture, Chandan Basera said that being a government servant we are paid to do work, so we need to do justice for being paid. He urged the staff to cultivate the habit of sincerity and dedication so that our next generation will not suffer. He also stressed on the importance of the website and appealed to the staff to serve the people.
The programme was chaired by Additional Director, Imtisosang and vote of thanks was given by Joint Director, Chubameren. The departmental website can be accessed through www.sericulture.nagaland.gov.in.
