A disciplined bowling effort from Kohima Old Boys sealed the win. For his all-round contribution of 79 runs and one wicket, Suneper was awarded Man of the Match.
In the second match on January 25, Kohima Legends won the toss and opted to bat but were restricted to 132/8 in 20 overs, failing to post a bigger total due to a relentless bowling attack from Esa Warriors.
Rakesh (2 wickets), Alongba Pongen (3 wickets), and Michael (3 wickets) kept constant pressure and broke partnerships at crucial moments.
In reply, Esa Warriors had a shaky start as their top order fell early. The middle order, however, showed composure and rebuilt the innings to keep the chase alive. The match went down to the wire, with Esa reaching 133/7, needing runs off the final over. With just two balls remaining, Sentongkaba scooped a boundary to seal a victory.
Despite a spirited bowling effort from the Kohima Legends attack, they narrowly fell short. For his impactful all-round performance of 41 runs with the bat and a three-wicket haul, Alongba Pongen was awarded Man of the Match.
In the third match on January 25, Lhomithi won the toss and opted to bat, getting off to a flying start. Enam Uddin, Hino Chishi, Wapang Zong, and Hamrung Langthasa dominated the inning, scoring 53, 65, 33, and 20 runs, respectively, as Lhomithi posted an imposing 190/3 in 20 overs.
In response, Nzon CC struggled against an aggressive Lhomithi bowling attack and were restricted to 116/9 in 20 overs. Shiyeto Wotsa (25), Keibueding Nsarangbe (27), and skipper Kenendi Apong (27) tried to hold the inning together, but the required rate and constant fall of wickets proved too much.
Capping off a fine all-round performance, Hino Chishi contributed 65 runs with the bat and claimed 3 wickets, earning him the Man of the Match award.
