Senior police officers trained to combat cyber crime

Dimapur, April 30 (EMN): Nagaland Police and NIELIT, Kohima, jointly conducted a two-day workshop for senior police officers on “Emerging crimes in cyberspace: Role of digital forensics in cybercrime investigations” at the Police Headquarters (PHQ) conference hall on April 25 and 26.

A press release issued by the superintendent of police (crime) and PRO of PHQ stated that Ashok Dohare, DGP (retired) of Madhya Pradesh, and ASA Krishnan, senior director (retired) of Meity, government of India, were the resources persons. It added that the DGP of Nagaland, T John Longkumer, exhorted the participants and welcomed the resource persons.

According to the report, the first day of the workshop included sessions on ‘Emerging cyber crimes and threats,’ ‘Technical and legal challenges in cyber space’ by Ashok Dohare, and sessions on ‘IT Act,’ ‘Attribution of digital evidence and appreciation of digital evidence’ by ASA Krishnan.

On the second day, Lanuwabang, director of NIELIT Kohima, highlighted the facilities and services offered by NIELIT Kohima, which was followed by a presentation on ‘Digital forensic and mobile forensic,’ ‘Cyber security policy’ by the resource persons.

Altogether, 54 senior police officers of Nagaland Police attended the workshop.
