Seminar on SBI Youth for India Fellowship held at Tetso College
DIMAPUR — A seminar on SBI Youth for India Fellowship was held at Tetso College, Chümoukedima, on Thursday with Ruchinilo Kemp, chief executive of Kenono Foundation as the resource person.
SBI Youth for India is a rural fellowship programme initiated by the State Bank of India (SBI), funded and managed by the SBI Foundation in partnership with reputed NGOs.
Addressing the 6th semester students of the college, Kemp, who is also an alumnus of the fellowship, explained that the fellowship is a 13-month rural development fellowship that provides bright young minds a platform to work with rural communities and devise ways to solve their most pressing issues, with a vision for equitable and sustainable growth path for society.
He said that the objective of the fellowship is to build a movement of passionate and sincere change-makers who can bridge the rural urban gap. The fellowship will also engage young people in exploration and also provide accommodation support as well as financial support, he said.
Kemp informed that the criteria for eligibility are, a person should be a graduate from any field, a citizen of India, Nepal or Bhutan, and he or she should be 21 to 32 years of age.
Interested students are asked to register through www.youthforindia.org/apply and the last day for application is May 15, 2024.
For young people trying to mainstream their career path, the fellowship provides a unique opportunity to experiment, he added.
He further informed that during the fellowship, a monthly allowance of INR 17,000 will be provided for living expenses, transport services and project related expenses. Upon successful completion for the fellowship, a readjustment of INR 70,000 will be given, among various other benefits.
