Seminar on ‘positivity’ conducted at Hebron Hr. Sec. School

Dimapur, Nov 24 (EMN): A one-day seminar on the topic “Awareness & Education Programme on Positivity” was organised by Altrura Society (AuS) in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Dimapur (NYKD), Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India on Nov. 23 at Hebron Hr. Sec. School, Sovima, Dimapur.

The vice-principal of the Hebron HSS, Medolhoulie Angami, who was the main speaker at the programme, underscored the importance of having a positive mindset especially if one has to contribute to nation building.

He cited the example of Alfred Noble, the  Swedish inventor known for inventing dynamite, whose premature obituary condemning him as a ‘merchant of death’, made him to take a positive stance and establish the most prestigious prize in the world, the Nobel Prize which is being awarded to different people who make exceptional contributions towards the betterment of humanity and promotion of world peace.

Angami also encouraged the students to put God first in their lives to become a successful person. He also urged them to live their lives to the fullest and promote “positivity and unity” in their day to day life for the sake of humanity in order ‘to create a constructive and positive society’.

Earlier in the programme, the president of Altrura Society(AuS), Visakuolie Medom, while delivering the keynote address, said that the Altrura Society is a registered NGO engaged in dedicated in working for public welfare through voluntary services. He said that the society has been conducting various social and capacity building training/seminars/sports in the past years. He said that the main aim of conducting the seminar was to create awareness and educate the students on ‘positivity for an overall development in the society’.

Altogether 97 participants including the students, teachers and members of the Altrura Society attended the programme.
