DIMAPUR — Nagaland Health Protection Society organised a one-day outreach seminar on income tax-tax deduction at source (IT-TDS) in collaboration with the Commissionerate of Income Tax NER, Guwahati, at Townhall, Niathu Resort, Chümoukedima on Wednesday.
It was conducted for all empanelled private hospitals in the state under the AB PM-JAY Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS). V Kezo, Commissioner and Secretary of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, was the special guest at the seminar, according to an update.
The IT team was led by C Deepak Singh, Commissioner of Income Tax (TDS), NER, Guwahati, with Rintei Renthlei, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax Range-TDS, Shillong, and Mani Sankar Bardoloi, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax Range-TDS, circle Guwahati as resource persons.
The seminar covered a variety of topics on tax compliance for various stakeholders involved in the implementation of the PM-JAY CMHIS scheme, including eligibility and procedures for exemption under the Income Tax Act for scheduled tribes, as well as the process for filing IT returns and receiving refunds, if any.
