Dimapur, Feb. 22 (EMN): Sekrenyi-cum-Mini-Hornbill festival of the Angami community would be celebrated on February 25 at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, with Nagaland chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, as special guest.

In view of the upcoming event, the deputy commissioner of Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, had convened a meeting with all frontal units under Angami Public Organisation (APO) along with district administrative officers and related government departments on February 22 in his office conference hall. The meeting was attended by representatives from Angami Public Organisation (APO), Angami Women Organisation (AWO), Angami Gazette Officers’ Krotho (AGOK), Angami Students’ Union (ASU) and government officials, stated a DIPR report.

Chairing the meeting, the DC informed the members on the earmarked amount received from the government for the festival, which was later handed over to APO for organising the festival. He invited the members to share their suggestions on how best it could be celebrated in a befitting manner.

APO enlightened the members on the status of preparation and arrangements made at Kisama as per the norms laid down by the government. It also informed that the festival would be a two-day affair with cultural activities where day one would be held at Kisama and the following day at Touphema tourist village on February 26.

Report added that AGOK and other members also shared their views and suggestions during the meeting.
