Dimapur, Nov. 2 (EMN): The Against Corruption and Unabated Taxation (Acaut) has demanded the statement to immediately advertise and seek applications for Lokayukta and Upa Lokayukta in at least five English national newspapers for not less than four days. According to a statement from Acaut on Friday, the applications must be invited through national papers because “as per the criteria of the Nagaland Lokayukta Act 2017 it is unlikely that anyone from Nagaland would meet the criteria to be a Lokayukta or an Upa Lokayukta member.” Then “the three member committee” should finalise the members of Lokayukta as per section 4 of the Nagaland Lokayukta Act, 2017, it stated. “…after which in consultation with the Lokayukta as per section-3 (subsection 3) member for Upa Lokayukta may be selected from among applicants as per section 4 of Nagaland Lokayukta Act 2017.”
