Security forces rescue two civilians

Dimapur, May 12 (EMN): Security forces, in a joint operation with the state police, arrested two persons and rescued two civilians (a married couple) from Dimapur Government College area on May 9.

A defence release stated that the security forces along with the state police launched a joint operation basing on specific inputs and two persons and rescued a couple, who were earlier abducted from Nagaland Gate at gun point. It stated that the joint team also recovered one point 32 pistol, three rounds of point 32 ammunition, two mobile phones and other incriminating documents from their possession.

Report further stated the arrested persons along with the recovered items were handed over to West Police Station, Dimapur, for further investigation.

In a separate incident, Phek battalion of the Assam Rifles rescued one ailing mother by donating blood at Phek District Hospital. It reported that the mother was in urgent need of rare O+ve blood.

It reported that the unit immediately dispatched multiple personnel under its command to assist the lady Khoshanelu. It added that timely availability of blood ensured the recovery of the lady.
