Dimapur, Dec. 5 (EMN): Security forces arrested one person with arms allegedly from NNC (PB) from Ahthibung area in Peren district on December 2.
A defence release stated that the armed cadre was arrested by the security forces along with state police representative in a joint operation basing on specific intelligence inputs. It stated that the joint team recovered one point 22 automatic rifle with magazine along with four live rounds ammunition, numerous incriminating documents relating to NNC (PB), and banned psychotropic substances.
It added that the arrested person along with the recovered items were handed over to Ahthibung police station for further investigation.
In another incident, as part of the ongoing crackdown on illegal activities in Nagaland, Assam Rifles and state police apprehended one person for possession and sale of illegal liquor from Bana Colony in Peren town on December 4.
It stated that the joint team recovered 47 bottles of Rum, 66 bottles of Whiskey, six bottles of Vodka, 37 cans of Kingfisher Beer and cash amount of INR 1,26,600 from his possession.
It further added that the arrested person along with the recovered items were handed over to Peren police station for further investigation.
