Security forces bust distillery plant in Dimapur

A distillery plant which was busted by the security forces on September 2 at 7th Mile Model village, Dimapur.

Dimapur, Sep. 2 (EMN): As part of the ongoing crackdown to prevent illegal activities in Nagaland, security forces seized illegal contraband items in the general area of 7th Mile Model village, Dimapur, on September 2.

A security forces press release stated that the contraband items were seized in a joint operation along with the Nagaland police representative based on specific intelligence inputs.

The joint team had arrested one person identified as Electo Sumi (36) and resident of 6th Mile, Dimapur. The team also recovered 98 Burma teak, one bottling plant of IMFL MC Rum, 107 cases of rum and packing materials.

The press release also stated that the arrested person along with the recovered items was handed over to Chümoukedima police station and the superintendent of Anti-Smuggling Customs Prevention Division, Dimapur, for further investigation.

In another related incident, the security forces arrested one person with illegal Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from a general area in Burma Camp, Dimapur, on September 1.

The accused person has been identified as Bhawani Singh (28) and resident of Burma Camp, Dimapur. Security forces recovered 12 cases of rum and whisky, ten cases of canned beer worth INR 1,15,800, two mobiles and cash of INR 2.7 lakh from his possession.

The report stated that the apprehended individual along with recovered items have been handed over to the East police station, Dimapur, for further investigation.

In yet another incident, security forces arrested one person with IMFL in the general area of 4th Mile, Dimapur, on September 2.

The accused has been identified as Atoka Sumi (24) and resident of 4th Mile, Dimapur. Security forces recovered rum, whisky and beer worth INR 1, 05,000 and INR 48,290 from his possession.

The report further stated that the apprehended individual along with recovered items was handed over to Diphupar police station for further investigation.
