Security forces from the army and state police have apprehended three persons, including two from the armed underground organization NSCN (K). The third is suspected to be an underground activist as well, the authorities informed on Saturday.On May 27, personnel of the 9th Assam Rifles and Nagaland police force carried out a joint operation in Chhota Basti of Kohima district, the authorities informed in a note issued to the media on Saturday, May 30. The raid led to the arrest of two cadres NSCN (K) workers, and another “suspected” to be an underground cadre as well.
The apprehended NSCN (K) cadres have been identified as self-styled “Pvt” Tokivi Ayi, 23 years of Surumi village under Zunheboto district, and self-styled “CPL” Khrasakhuyi alias Ato Chezo, 25 years, of Kachapu under Phek district. The third person, suspected to be an underground cadre as well, has been identified as one Kulhunezo, 23 years of Runguzu village under Chozuba in Phek.
