IMPHAL — Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh called on Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey at the Raj Bhavan on Thursday evening and briefed about the prevailing security situation in the state.

While informing that central forces have been deployed along the fringe areas to prevent any untoward incident, Singh said some personnel have to be withdrawn for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections but would return after the polls.

Central forces are engaged in guarding the state armouries and escorting vehicles along the two national highways, i.e, NH-2 (Imphal-Dimapur road) and NH-37(Imphal-Jiribam road).

According to sources from Raj Bhavan, the government had asked the security advisor to take all possible measures to check any untoward incident and for the safety and security of the people in general.
