Sector officers undergo training for LS polls in Dimapur

DIMAPUR — A training session was held at the conference hall of the DC office in Dimapur, aimed at preparing sector officers for their roles in the upcoming Lok Sabha election on Wednesday.

According to a DIPR report, the attendees included District Election Officer (DEO) and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr. Tinojongshi Chang and ADC Mhalo Humtsoe, as well as the sector officers.

Dr. Vero, assembly level master trainer, who led the training, highlighted on the occasion the primary responsibilities of sector officers, which included visiting all polling stations during the initial two hours of the poll, submitting poll commencement reports to the returning officer, ensuring timely replacement of malfunctioning electronic voting machines (EVMs), and ensuring accessibility for all voters, especially those who are vulnerable.

The training emphasised the protocol for handling technical issues like EVM malfunctions and power pack replacements in control units (CUs) during mock or actual polls.

On the occasion, Tinojongshi stressed the importance of guiding newly appointed presiding officers for the effective execution of their duties. He expressed gratitude to the sector officers and the master trainers for their cooperation in the training.
