Dimapur, July 7 (EMN): In view of the 16 secretariat assistant team’s field study visit to the district, deputy commissioner (DC), Longleng, John Tsulise Sangtam, has urged all HoDs to extend their cooperation and support while disseminating their departmental activities.

The DC stated this at the monthly meeting of the district planning and development board (DPDB) held on July 6 in his office’s conference hall.

The board, after lengthy deliberations, has recommended creation of urban primary health centre in Longleng headquarter; establishment of Ayush hospital at District Hospital, Longleng; upgradation of Pongo and Tamlu PHC to CHC; Upgradation of Tangha and Namching sub-centres to PHC; taking over of Yaongyimchen community health centre by the government; and creation of new sub-centre at Yonglok, Alayong, Orangkong and Tamlu village for government approval.

The house also deliberated on grant-in-aid to Christ King School and registration of new society named “May I help you.”

While proposing for upgradation of various medical centres in the district, Dr. Meren, DPO (RCH & UIP), invited the members to attend the World Population Day to be observed on July 11 in Longleng headquarter to disseminate its importance to the mass by the officers.

The board also approved the proposal submitted by the deputy commissioner for organising officers’ club of Longleng and constituted eight members committee headed by Temsuwati, ADC Longleng, as the chairman and Vitoka, EAC Longleng, as member secretary. While proposing for officers’ club, the DC exhorted the members to come forward with an enthusiasm mind to work out the feasibility of the club as centre point of discussion, coordination of officers in developmental activities besides other activities and curriculum.

The board also recommended the proposal submitted by the station superintendent of NST Longleng for daily NST bus service from Longleng to Kohima and the proposal of DEO (Evaluation) to carry out study on implementation of mid-day meal scheme in the district.

ADC Tamlu, Chingak Konyak, also informed the members regarding fixing of rates to compensate the landowners for damaged of land and properties for construction of two lane road from Merangkong via Tamlu to Mon district. He urged upon eight departments to hold back after the DPDB meeting for fixing of rates to be submitted to Guwahati for immediate progress of work by the contractor.

The DAO presented the activities taken up by the agriculture department in the district and MS of District Hospital Longleng gave a power point presentation on use of tobacco and health. Supply and the soil departments were asked to present their activities in the next meeting.
