Second medical, disaster management cargo reaches Nagaland

Dimapur, March 30 (EMN): The second consignment of medical supplies and disaster management equipment for Nagaland has reached the state on March 30.
A C-130 Super Hercules landed at the Dimapur airport with the supplies, with the assistance of the Indian Air Force.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio tweeted the development on Monday. He assured that the equipment would reach each of the districts.
‘The state government will ensure that it reaches every district in Nagaland in time,’ the tweet stated.
Nagaland had received the first consignment of personal protective equipment (PPE) on Saturday.
Rio had made the announcement during a briefing on Covid-19 in Kohima on Saturday, according to a DIPR report.
The report had stated that the chief minister highlighted some of the crucial measures the government is taking with support from the people to contain and deal with the Covid- 19 pandemic.
‘The welfare and protection of the people including the healthcare professionals, police personnel, media personnel and others who are at the front lines will be our priority.’
‘Therefore, medication, equipment and safety measures are being put in place for the safety of the general public and medical workers,’ he said.
Rio had also assured that the state government is taking all measures in regard to procuring medical safety gears, ventilators and other urgent necessities.
