KOHIMA — The 29th wrestling meet of the Secheku Wrestling Association (SWA) will be held on January 12 at Porba Village, under Phek district.
Huluyi D Vadeo, the defending champion of the Secheku area, will compete, alongside Thuputha Hesuh, the U-16 champion, who will be making his debut in the senior category at this event.
Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, leader of the NPF Legislature Party, will attend the occasion as special guest, while Thupuvecho Vadeo, president of the Chakhesang Union Chümoukedima, will be the guest of honour.
The champion will receive a cash prize of INR 1 lakh along with citations, while the runner-up will be awarded INR 80,000. The 3rd and 4th position holders will receive INR 60,000 and INR 40,000, respectively.
For the U-16 category, the winner will receive a cash prize of INR 30,000, and the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places will be awarded INR 20,000, INR 15,000, and INR 10,000, respectively.
SWA President Kuhusheyi D Vadeo will deliver the presidential address, while SWA technical secretary Tewetso Tsuhah will administer the oath to the wrestlers.
