Mokokchung, August 14 (EMN): The Sumo Driver Union Mokokchung (SDUM) on Monday issued a press release, stating that the union has resolved to restrict the movement of Sumo vehicles in Mokokchung district from August 16 onwards, after a group of women allegedly beaten a co-driver on August 12 evening at Kupok counter in Kohima and the former failed to show up to deliberate the case.
In a released appended by Sumo Driver Union Mokokchung president, Yanger and secretary Ajung, stated that on August 12 evening at Kubok counter Kohima, a group women led by one Takosenla from Ungma village allegedly beaten up a sumo driver.
The press release stated that the driver was ‘innocent’.
In this connection, the Sumo Driver Union, Mokokchung on August 14 called the former for explanation of her actions, however, the former failed to show up, thus union resolved to restrict the movement of Sumo vehicles in Mokokchung district from August 16 onwards till the matter is resolved between the two parties,” the release stated.
