SDO (E) Kiphire upgraded to EE (E)

DIPR Kiphire, February 5 The SDO (E) of Kiphire was formally upgraded to Executive Engineer (Electrical) Electrical Division Kiphire on 5th February 2016. The formal function was inaugurated by Minister for Power Nagaland C. Kipili Sangtam as the chief guest at SDO (E) office Kiphire. In his inaugural speech C. Kipili Sangtam said that development depends on the cooperation of the public. He said that Kiphire Electrical department has been facing untold hardship. However, with the up-grade of SDO (E) to EE (E), public grievances and department’s works would go smoothly without any hindrance. The chief guest said that every development work needs the support of the public, therefore he appealed the public to extend maximum support to the officers and staff of the department. Stressing on the importance of economic, the chief guest said that every development work depends on electricity but lamented that people don’t make use of electricity in proper way. He said that people use electricity but many don’t pay electricity bills which he said is the problem faced by the department. He further said that the department would be now strict on checking electricity theft, for proper functioning of the electricity in the State and shall be panelised legally. He said Kiphire is upgraded to Executive Engineer (Electrical) Electrical Division along with Longleng and Peren district but said that Longleng and Peren is yet to be inaugurated. Superintendent Engineer (D&R) (Power) Khosa Sale while delivering a short speech said that the long cherish dream of the people has come true and now to make use of it depends on the public. He also said that the department was trying to electrify all the unreached villages in the district. Therefore, he sought public cooperation so as to materialize its target without any obstacle. Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, A. Chumremo Odyuo who also spoke at the programme thanked the Minister for Power C. kipili Sangtam for taking hardship in upgrading the department. He said that the government’s land in Kiphire town has been largely encroached thereby many departments have been facing a problem. He further said people should not depend only on Police and Administration but should educate themselves how to live in the civilized town. Executive Engineer(E) Khriechusa Kire proposed vote of thanks. The programme was chaired by SDO (E) Kiphire C. Thowachu. Administrative officers, USLP, GBs and DBs and party leaders from Kiphire attended the programme With the inauguration of EE (E), Kiphire Power department will now function independently .
