SD Jain observes 70th annual day

Dimapur, Dec. 12 (EMN): SD Jain Higher Secondary School, Dimapur observed 70th Annual Day on Dec. 11 with Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur Sushil Kumar Patel as chief guest.
Speaking at the programme, DC highlighted the changing scenario in the field of education with the advent of internet and mobile phones. He advised the students that one need to have the passion to come on top through constant effort and hard work.
He also requested the parents to give quality time to their children in their studies. “The kind of guidance and encouragement that parents can provide to their children is like a long term investment as the children are the asset of a family and the nation,” Patel said. He remarked that parents also play an equal role with teachers in shaping the future of a child.
He appreciated the SD Jain Samaj for the valuable contributions they are making to the society in the form of providing quality education to the students through their educational institutions like the higher secondary school and girls’ college.
Secretary of School Managing Committee, Ajay Sethi, in his welcome address, highlighted the initiatives undertaken by the school for the overall progress of the school. He asserted that the Jain Samaj will continue to support the school in whatever way possible to provide quality education to the students in the days to come.
Principal of the school, Reji Abraham, presented the school annual report highlighting the various programmes and activities conducted by the school.
On the occasion, winners of different competitions held earlier and class toppers were also felicitated with mementoes and certificates. Payal Kumari Sharma , the 4th state rank holder in the HSSLC examination 2017 in commerce stream was felicitated by the chief guest with cash rewards, memento and certificate.
Various cultural items were performed by the students. the event was attended by parents, Jain Samaj executives, other communities leaders and well wishers.
