Dimapur, Jan. 19 (EMN): SD Jain Girls’ College Dimapur has celebrated its silver jubilee cum annual day in the college premise on January 19. The event was attended by Commissioner of Police Dimapur, Limasunep Jamir, as the chief guest.
Addressing the college fraternity, Jamir has termed the day as a significant milestone for the college to retrospect on the strength and shortcoming of the past. He has lauded the achievement of the college during the past 25 years whereby it could enrol 1200 students at present as compared to the days in 1993 when it initially started with 54 students.
“The progress of the college is echoed in the quality of education that the college is providing and the results the students created,” exhorted the Dimapur commissioner of police.
Jamir heartened the student community to work hard as they would be soon facing a competitive world. “Be prepared for the future and contribute positively to the society you belong to and where you have come from,” he encouraged.
The silver jubilee celebration was marked with cultural extravaganza presented by the students showcasing diverse cultures of India. On the occasion, the chief guest along with the college faculties released the college souvenir-cum-annual magazine ‘Jyotsna.’
