Scouts and Guides observe ‘World Thinking Day’

Scouts and Guides of Kohima district along with the leaders pose for a photograph on the occasion of ‘World Thinking Day’ on February 22.

Dimapur, Feb. 23 (EMN): Bharat Scouts and Guides in Kohima district observed “World Thinking Day” also known as the “Founders Day” on February 22 at the Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides State headquarters, Bayavü Hill, Kohima, on the theme “Diversity, equity and inclusion.”

‘World Thinking Day’ is observed annually on February 22 on different themes by the Scout and Guide organisations all over the world as it is the birthday of both the founders of scouting movement Lord Baden Powell- chief scout of the world and his wife Lady Olave Baden Powell- chief guide of the world, an update from Khriesanyü Pienyü, district organising commissioner, stated on Sunday.

The programme was chaired by RR Apollos, district training commissioner (Scout), Kohima, while the welcome address was delivered by Kenei Solo, guide captain of Mezhür Higher Secondary School. It stated that Khriesanyü Pienyü had shared on the significance of the day and the vote of thanks was pronounced by Roshmi Rana, district guider, Kohima.

The programme concluded with the reaffirmation of Scouts and Guides promise and singing of Scouts and Guides taps. Scouts and Guides from different troop and companies along with unit leaders, district officials and state officials attended the programme.
