DIPHU — The legendary Scottish hard rock band ‘Nazareth’ arrived in Dimapur on Monday. They have been officially invited to perform at the 50th Karbi Youth Festival on January 16 at the SAI stadium in Diphu.

This is the first time an international music band has been invited to perform at the festival in Karbi Anglong. The show is free for all and the gates will open from 4 pm onward.

The band members were welcomed at the Dimapur Airport by Karbi Cultural Society’s publicity secretary Hingchong Tisso and member Francis Timung and were felicitated with traditional ‘Karbi poho’ turbans.

Band member Lee Agnew said on the occasion that they started their journey from the UK on Sunday morning and are excited to be a part of the grand festival. The band is expected to present around 16 songs at the concert.

Nazareth will be staying at Naithu Resort before their performance. The iconic rock band comprises Peter Agnew, Lee Agnew, James Murris and Carl Sentance.
