Scores of persons have been awarded by the Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, for outstanding services in their respective professions during the 75th Independence Day’s celebration held at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza in Kohima on Sunday.

The President’s Police Medal (PPM) for distinguished service was conferred to K Martin Pienyu, IGP (INT), Kohima, while the Police Medal (PM) for meritorious service was given out to Vekhosa Chakesang, commandant of 10th NAP (IR) Battalion, Zhadima.

The “Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation” for the year 2021 was awarded to UBSI Temsuyangba Ao from Dimapur, while the President’s Correctional Service Medal for Meritorious Service was awarded to K Hamtok Phom, superintendent of jail, District Jail, Tuensang.

The Governor’s Gold Award Medal awardees were Vizotuo Seletsu, EE PWD (R&B), South Division, Kohima; Talitemsu Jamir, EE PWD (R&B), Dimapur Division; Ilika Zhimomi, SDO, Mon (HQ); Shanavas C, principal director of School Education; Hav. S Khetoshe Sumi from Dimapur DEF; Rattle and Hum Music Society (RHMS); UBSI Temsuyangba Ao from Dimapur; Tepunol Yore, DPO, Wokha; Nirie-e Nisa, EE Office of the Chief Engineer, PHED; M Rollan Lotha, chief operating officer (programmes), NSRLM, RD department; and T Ado Yanlem, additional SP, Mon.

The Governor’s Commendation Certificate recipients were Vimete Pusa, SDO under EE PWD (R&B), South Division, Kohima; Nagashe Swu, SDO under EE, PWD (R&B), Dimapur division; Muzivovi Ringa, SDO under EE PWD (R&B), Dimapur division; ABSI Lanuakum Chang from 10th NAP (IR); UBSI Tsuponi Tsukru; Hav. Abemo Ezung from Narcotic Cell, PHQ; Hav. Thepuzo Chakhesang from DEF Phek; Imtilepzuk, sub-divisional agriculture officer, Jalukie, Peren; M Akuiba Yimchunger, chowkidar from of Art and Culture department; Masatuba Longkumer, peon from the directorate of Rural Development; K Ngonlong Konyak, UDA from deputy commissioner of police, Mon; Constable Virhosa from 15th NAP (IR) battalion; Temsu Longkumer, horticulture officer, Dimapur; and Dr. Vizovol Mekro, principal of Phek Government College

Viswema village, under Jakhama block; Sechuma village and Dzudza village under Sechu Zubza block; and New Ministers’ Hill colony in Kohima town were also given certificates of appreciation in recognition for achieving 100% vaccination of eligible beneficiaries.
