Head of government schools are seen attending the training programme on UDISE+ and students profile in Dimapur on Wednesday.

Principal of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) and in-charge of Dimapur District Education Officer (DEO), A Mughali Sema, has directed head of government schools to submit accurate data of students’ enrolment and school infrastructures in the unified district information system for education plus (UDISE+) and students’ profile. She stated that fund would be released basing on the date furnished by the schools.

She stated this during the training programme on UDISE+ and students profile organised by Dimapur Mission Authority Samagra Shiksha on Wednesday at GHSS, Dimapur. She expressed that teachers often make mistakes while collecting data of the students and submitting without cross checking.

“The enrolment of students, infrastructure that is lacking in the school, number of drop outs students, and children with special needs (CWSN) should be updated in details correctly so that when the inspection comes from Samagra Shiksha there will not be errors,” Sema said.

Informing that there is fund for CWSN and school-out students, she stated that the ministry would not provide fund if the data provided by the school does not reflect students of CWSN.

Having learned recently that many primary and middle schools are without toilets and electricity, she asked the head of institutions to make use of the little funds that was provided.

“Utilise properly the fund provided and according to the needs of the schools on priority basis,” she asserted.

She reminded the head of institutions to provide accurate data as the funds provide by government depends on what has been filled in the UDISE+ and students profile. She advised them to take extra effort in identifying CWSN students and provide in the students profile.

Freda Angami, ADC, DMA SS, also informed the institution heads to utilise the fund in public financial management system (PFMS) school account citing that it should be zero balance by January 31. She has asked them to update the data as the government would be updating the software before the release of fund.
