Dimapur, Jan. 31 (EMN): The government of Nagaland on Monday announced more relaxation to Covid-19 curbs in the state, allowing physical classes for students of classes 1 to 8 from February 15.

However, the order issued by the chief secretary of the state, J Alam, said that the attendance of students for offline classes is subject to parental consent and fulfilment of the conditions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) will be allowed to conduct the upcoming board examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 in offline mode as per the examination schedule to be decided in March provided the SOPs are followed.

“Suitable arrangements should also be made for the students who are unable to appear for the examinations on account of being tested positive for Covid-19 positive, or who are symptomatic,” added the order.

However, the order stated that all the existing restrictions in the state for preventing the spread of Covid-19 as issued in the earlier orders, including those on social/religious/political/sports/academic/cultural entertainment gatherings etc. shall continue” till February 15.

It added that violators of the directives will be punished according to the law.
