Schools in Dimapur to resume physical classes from August 28
DIMAPUR — After suspension of classes for schools in Dimapur district from August 21 to the 26th, to contain the spread of conjunctivitis (eye flu) infection among school going children, physical classes will resume from August 28.
This was confirmed by the district Deputy Commissioner Sachin Jaiswal to Eastern Mirror on Saturday.
With the rise of the cases of conjunctivitis in Dimapur, especially among the school going children, the DC had on August 19 notified the suspension of physical classes for six days and requested the schools to explore alternate options like online classes, during this period.
The suspension of physical classes was taken after deliberation with the district officials of the Department of Health and family Welfare and Department of School Education, considering the severity of the spread of infection and the number of cases.
The deputy commissioners of Chümoukedima and Niuland districts also simultaneously issued similar orders for suspension of physical classes from August 21 to the 26th.
On August 22, the deputy commissioner of Mon also ordered suspension of physical classes (up to Class 12) in all schools under Mon district, from August 22 to the 26th.
