Dimapur, May 17 (EMN): The Dimapur district transport authority has informed all colleges and schools to “renew/register/reassign” the documents of their respective buses and light motor vehicles (LMV) on or before June 8 next.
A press release from the district transport officer on Wednesday stated that this has been necessitated after said authority had “detected many educational institution's buses & LMVS ferrying students have been evading tax for more than decade or are without proper documents as such.”It warned that vehicles belonging to educational institutions would not be exempt from “routine vehicle checking”. The authority concerned, it stated, would not be held responsible “for inconvenience that may arise while enforcing Motor vehicle rules/Act. Defaulters will be penalized/ detained as per the Motor Vehicle Act.”
