School health and wellness programme launched in Kiphire
Dimapur, March 16 (EMN): A school health and wellness programme under the Ayushman Bharat was launched in aspirational district Kiphire on March 16, which was attended by principals, headmasters and head teachers of all the government middle schools, high schools and higher secondary schools of the district.
Speaking on the occasion, the deputy commissioner of Kiphire, T Wati Aier, underscore the importance of the programme and appealed to all the schools to effectively implement the flagship programme of the government of India as per the guidelines. He appealed to all the teachers to actively take part in the programme and enhance the health and wellbeing of all school going children.

While lauding the initiative undertaken by the departments of Health and Family Welfare, Education and SCERT Nagaland, he assured to support the programme so as to fulfil the vision, an update from the office of the chief medical officer, Kiphire, stated on Tuesday.
Kegwalo Thyug, SCERT project coordinator, delivered the keynote address and highlighted the road map for implementing the health and wellness initiative besides the various components under the programme.
Report also stated that the launching programme would be followed with four days training on 11 themes on health and wellness. It added that two teachers from each school would be trained as health and wellness ambassadors and subsequently would carry out their roles and responsibilities towards the programme. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Deenabandhu, DEO Kiphire.
