DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 3: Scholarship affected students under ENSUD has demanded the state government to give the progress report of State Level Committee (SLC) setup by Chief Minister T.R. Zealiang, with the aim of helping Naga students who got admitted in various colleges and universities under ENSUD initiative.
The students expressed the unbearable pain over the ‘silent mode’ of the state government for not fulfilling any of the six points of demand in the memorandum submitted on July 22 this year on the same day of sit-in protest held in Kohima.
Students’ representative, T Thomas Konyak, Lachim Yimchunger, Honpha Konyak and P Hiska Sema stated that they feared that SLC is being setup by the Chief Minister just to pull the ears of Naga general public for gaining the political interest.
Stating that when the rest of the world is operating faster with online system, the students regretted to have learnt from the local dallies on July 19, that the state government could not provide the scholarship in time to ST students studying outside the state due to the changes in the system from manual to online application.
The affected students appealed state government to give accurate and beneficial response on or before November 10, failing which the students said it will continue to fight for their rights in any form till the justice is delivered and any kind of responsibility will be held by the state government.
