DIMAPUR — The Directorate of Youth Resources and Sports has announced the guidelines and zoning details for the Pre-Subroto International Football Tournament 2026 for Under-17 boys and girls across the state.
The tournament will be conducted zone-wise by the end of May in collaboration with the Nagaland Football Association. The top two teams from each zone will qualify for the state-level tournament scheduled for June.
According to a circular, Zone 1 (Host: Kohima) comprises Kohima, Tseminyu, Phek, and Meluri. Zone 2 (Host: Chümoukedima) comprises Chümoukedima, Dimapur, Peren, and Niuland. Zone 3 (Host: Mokokchung) comprises Mokokchung, Wokha, Zunheboto, and Longleng. Zone 4 (Host: Tuensang) comprises Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire, Shamator, and Noklak.
The department informed that players must be born on or after January 1, 2010. All players of a team must be from the same school. All participating schools must register their athletes in the CRS portal, and teams must be registered on the Subroto portal (subrotocup.in).

While no travelling and dearness allowances or prize money will be provided for the zonal tournaments, certificates of participation as well as certificates to the winners will be given. For the state-level tournament, accommodation and food will be provided by the department.
The two winning teams in the Under-17 boys and girls categories will represent Nagaland in the final round of the Subroto Mukherjee International Football Tournament to be held from August 18 to September 25.
The circular added that the registration fee of INR 2000 per school will be refunded for those participating in the zonals.
Meanwhile, the District Youth Resources and Sports Officer of Chümoukedima has informed that the Zone 2 tournament will be held from May 27 to the 30th at the Chümoukedima Football Stadium in the Police Complex.
