Resource persons along with faculty and students of Salesian College of Higher Education after the career counseling programme on Saturday.

Dimapur, March 20 (EMN): Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) along with Art and Literary Club of Salesian College of Higher Education (SCHE), in collaboration with Imperial Academy and AIDA, Don Bosco Job Placement Network, conducted a counseling and career guidance programme on Saturday.

The aim of the programme was to help students make an informed career decision based on their professional choices, stated an update from the college.

In the first session, Saket Saurav, former faculty of the Imperial Academy, gave a motivational talk on the benefits and also on how to appear for the civil service examination. Citing examples from the experience of officers, he explained the value of civil service stages of exams, syllabus etc.

He also emphasised on the motto of the civil service “Character is the biggest virtue.”

The session concluded with a short interactive question hour.

The second session was conducted by AIDA, Don Bosco Job Placement Network on Tata Consultancy Services established in 2007. An introductory note on Tata Consultancy Service (TCS) was delivered by Sebi Chacko, regional coordinator for Don Bosco Job Placement Network, India. He updated the students with the various job opportunities available in the region and in the country.

Dhrubjyoti Gogoi, representative from Tata Consultancy office, began his address with a striking question, “In an interview why do candidates get selected or rejected?’ Gogoi then elaborated on the aim and purpose of TCS through a proper powerpoint presentation on the motto “Increasing the employability and to uplift the underprivileged.”

The programme concluded with a note of thanks proposed by Ronit Dangme, sixth semester student of History department.
