Dimapur, May 3 (EMN): SCERT, in coordination with Directorate of School Education, conducted a Training of Trainers (ToTs)/ Resource Persons (RPs) in two phases in the month of March and April. The programme was funded by the Samagra Shiksha, Nagaland.
A total of 239 teachers from all the 11 districts participated in the training programme. The topics covered included professional ethics/ professionalism, constructivism, child psychology, learning outcomes in early childhood/ Mathematics/ Language/ Social Sciences/ Science.
The training was conducted with the objectives to introduce the concept of learning outcomes to the TOTs, highlight the necessity of shifting the focus from Quantity towards quality in education and (ii) A teacher-centred classroom to a student-centred classroom.
It was also conducted to orient TOTs on various pedagogical processes so that the teaching-learning process could be oriented towards achieving learning outcomes and create exemplars for all the subjects (English, EVS, Social Science, Mathematics and Science) keeping the local context in mind to achieve learning outcomes.
