Dimapur, Sep. 19 (EMN): State Bank of India (SBI), Dimapur region, organised a cluster finance programme for Self Help Groups (SHG) at Niathu Resort on September 18 in the presence of SBI general manager, Network II, North East Circle, Lunkim Thangboi.

An update from SBI Dimapur region informed that sanction letters to 101 SHG comprising mostly of women under the cluster of Niuland, Sechu-Zubza, Medziphema, Chümoukedima, Jalukie and Diphupar were presented by the general manager on the occasion.

It added that 28 trainees, who have completed their vocational training in piggery from SBI Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) in Jalukie, were also handed over with sanction letters under Mudra Piggery Scheme.

Speaking on the occasion, Thangboi highlighted the importance of credit linkage to the SHG and the important role its members could play toward developing the society and entrepreneurship in the state.

He informed that SBI is ready to give funds to people in the state especially by way of forming SHG thereby ensuring extension of credit facilities to the remotest and marginalised segments of the society. 

He opined that day’s programme was one of the most successful events organised by SBI, Dimapur region, thus far in respect of credit linkage to the SHG.

The general manager further exhorted the beneficiaries to judiciously use the bank funds in furthering their business and uplift their economic standard of living.

SHG present in the programme were mainly engaged in activities such as poultry, piggery, pickle making, weaving, banana plantation, mushroom cultivation, small retail shop, local handicraft, onward lending among the group members etc.

Other officials including Ajanta Hazarika, deputy general manager (B&O), AO Jorhat; Abinash Hembrom, regional manager of Dimapur region; and Rajneesh Kumar, AGM FI, were also present on the occasion.

SBI official visits branch office in Kohima

Rajneesh Kumar, assistant manager (Financial inclusion) at administrative office in Jorhat, paid a visit to State Bank of India (SBI) Customer Service Point (CSP) Kezieke in Kohima on September 17.

A press release from SBI CSP Keziekie informed that under the Jansuraksha campaign, Kumar visited the CSP in regard to social security scheme (SSS) to sensitise on APY, PMSBY and PMJJBY.

Further, it informed that SBI saving account holders could visit the CSP for enrolment and avail the benefit of the schemes.
