DIMAPUR — The department of Music Ministry, Sümi Baptist Church, Zunheboto (SBCZ), celebrated 25 years of its foundation on September 23 and 24.
The jubilee was celebrated in the church premises with the theme ‘good news is coming’ (Psalm 98), according to a press release.
In his jubilee greetings, Bokaho Zhimomi, chairman of the jubilee planning board, remembered the church music committee's pioneers and stated that their good works will be remembered forever.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]Speaking on the jubilee theme, Inaholi Aye Rochill, former associate pastor (music) SBCZ, shared her experiences and testimonies about how music plays an important role in everyone's lives.
She recalled how, during the pandemic, when the entire nation was hit by COVID-19 and many patients were isolated, they could reach out to them through music on various social media platforms, and how many believers have wonderful testimonies of healing and comfort through music.
She encouraged the congregation to use their talents for the glory of God.
Members of the Margaret Shishak School of Music and the church jubilee choir also performed a song during the celebration.
At the inaugural programme, Rev. Henito Swu, rtd. evangelist, Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu (SBAK) Nito Mount (NM), unveiled the jubilee monolith, and Dr. Hutton Sumi, pastor, SBCZ, pronounced the dedicatory prayer.
Ghunato Assumi, SBCZ associate pastor general, offered the jubilee prayer and launched the sovenier.
As part of the jubilee, a band competition was held for churches affiliated with SBAK (NM), with Sümi Baptist Church, Kohima, being declared the winner and Sümi Baptist Church, Mokokchung, being declared the runners-up.
