Sazolie College conducts sanitation drive in Kohima
DIMAPUR — With an aim to raise awareness among the public on cleanliness and hygiene, the National Social Scheme (NSS) volunteers of Sazolie College in Kohima undertook a sanitation drive on Thursday.
The cleanliness drive was organised as a follow-up activity to the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) drive aimed at promoting environmental awareness and fostering a pollution-free environment, stated an update from the college.
The focus areas of the cleanliness drive included the college campus and Vira Lozi, spanning the Kohima and Jotsoma region. It stated that students participated in cleaning the college premises, classrooms and collecting garbage in and around Vira Lozi.
Meanwhile, the NSS unit of Sazolie College has appreciated the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) for their assistance in providing a garbage disposal trucks for the day.
IReport stated that a total of 102 NSS volunteers along with two programme officers and one teacher participated in the event.
