DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 30: Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) speaker, Chotisuh Sazo, advised chakhesang community to take up viable projects in their respective villages so that they would put in hard work to gain self sufficiency.
Sazo was speaking as the chief guest at Chokri Area Public Organisation (CAPO) silver jubilee celebration under the theme “Hard work is the solution,” on November 30 at Rihuba village, Chokriba.
If revisit, the hallmark of “our people” and the economy in the past was self sufficiency, gained through hard labour, said Sazo. He called upon the people of the area to put their best efforts so that the theme of their celebration will not be just a slogan but a living reality.
He also lauded the organisation for choosing the jubilee theme, which he observed was sync with the culture the people of the area, who were known for their honesty, integrity and hard labour.
Citing the example of the host village, wherein all the households engaged in farming activities in their respective backyards part from their fields, he urged the other villagers to draw a lesson and work for sufficient livelihood.
Short speeches were delivered by former ministers, N Theyo and Thenucho Tunyi, and Deputy Commissioner Phek, Murohu Chotso.
Earlier, jubilee monolith was unveiled by the chief guest. Greeting was conveyed by president of Japfuphiki Chokri Dzevi Krotho, Kikhwesul Thokhwe. Villagers and well wishers attended the programme.
